CBSE NEET 2018 : Application Form, Exam Date & Details

Central  Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is inviting online application forms for NEET 2018 Examination. Subsequently, National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a National Level Entrance Exam for admission in medical and dental colleges. Interested candidates can apply online for NEET Exam 2018 through the official website

CBSE will conduct NEET UG 2018 Exam on 6 May 2018 (Sunday). Accordingly, this exam is essential for the candidates to avail admissions in various under graduate courses like MBBS, BDS courses. Admissions for these courses is on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) in NEET Exam 2018 allotted by CBSE.

Interested and eligible candidates can fill the NEET UG 2018 online application form through the neet 2018 official website between 8 February 2018 and 9 March 2018.

NEET 2018

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) – 2018. All medical aspirants must appear in NEET as it is the only medical entrance exam in India apart from AIIMS and JIPMER. The role of CBSE is upto conduct of exam and declaration of result. After that, counselling authorities will conduct counselling. All medical and dental colleges in India, that have recognition from MCI/DCI must accept NEET scores only for admission, they cannot hold separate exams.

NEET 2018 Application Form

Candidates can fill NEET 2018 application form at One must retain at least three printouts of confirmation page, proof of fee payment, 5 copies of passport size photograph (same as the one scanned), 2 post card size photos (same as in form) after submitting form.

How to apply?

You can apply / register for NEET 2018 by going through following steps.

  1. Fill the online application form. Then note down registration number.
  2. Upload photograph as well as signature.
  3. Pay application fee in any one mode.
  4. Now you can print confirmation page and fee payment proof.

Photograph, signature specifications

In the second step of application form, you will upload scanned copies of passport size photo and signature. Their specifications are as follows.

Photograph should be recent, passport size, with white background. It should have your (candidate’s) name and date of taking photograph. Scan the photograph in high quality and save it as jpeg file. Size of the scanned file should be between 10 kb and 100 kb.

Signature should also be in jpeg format. Its size should be between 3 kb and 20 kb.

NEET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must ensure that they fulfill eligibility criteria of NEET 2018 before applying. Check all criteria of eligibility here.

Educational qualification: You should pass physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, english individually in qualifying exam. Also you should have at least 50% aggregate in PCB. If you belong to SC/ST/OBC category then minimum marks requirement is 40%. If you belong o UR-PH category then it is 45%. For SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH, minimum marks requirement is 40% only.

The qualifying exams, students of which are eligible for NEET 2018 are mentioned under section 4 – qualifications and qualifying examination codes in NEET 2018 information brochure.

Age limit

  • Lower age limit (as on 31 Dec 2018): 17 years.
  • Upper age limit (as on date of exam): 25 years (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC).


Open school candidates: Candidates who have passed 10+2 from Open Schools or as Private candidates are, unfortunately, not eligible. Also, study of Biology / Bio-technology as an Additional Subject at 10+2 level also shall not be permissible.

Important instruction for candidates from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir

As the States of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana have decided to join and contribute their MBBS/BDS seats for the allotment to the candidates under 15% All India Quota from the academic year 2018-19 onward, the candidates belonging to these States shall also be eligible for 15% All India Quota seats.

Those who apply can login at The candidate login of NEET 2018 will be the single login page where registered users can sign in to see their forms. It may also serve as the login for admit card can download, however usually CBSE launches separate link for that.

How to login?

You can login with registration number and password. Simply go to the login page and enter these two details and click on login link.

Forgot password, what to do?

Candidate login page has a link for “forgot password”. Click on that if you have forgotten password. Then you will reach the page to retrieve password through three means. You can either opt to get it through OTP or through security question or third option is if you have forgotten mobile number and email ID.

  • If you opt for OTP mode then you enter your registration number, name, DOB.
  • In the event of choosing security question, you enter registration number, name, DOB, security question, answer.
  • If you forgot email ID and number, then you enter registration number, name, DOB, father’s name, mother’s name.

NEET 2018 Exam Pattern

  1. Examination duration: 3 hours.
  2. The paper will be having 180 questions of MCQ type.
  3. You will get 4 marks for correct answer and -1 mark for the wrong answer.
  4. Provided Question paper in English & Hindi language.
  5. NEET 2018 question paper is divided into 4 sections which are as follows-
    Botany: 45 questions, Physics: 45 questions, Zoology: 45 questions, Chemistry: 45 questions.

  1. Conducting Committee will be: [MCC] Medical Counselling Committee
  2. The Merit list candidates qualified for examination needs to register themselves for online counseling.
  3. Mock counseling will also be conducted online before the final allotment is given to all applicants for helping them to refine the selection of colleges and courses of the applicants.
  4. The applicant will be provided seats on the basis of ranking factor
  5. Applicant needs to report to allotted institute after he gets seats allotted
  6. Applicants need to verify document and pay fees after fee allotment.
  7. The mode of counseling depends on the states.
