Central govt. has launch National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme 2018 for youths. NAPS is a national scheme for providing skill training to ITI students / Freshers / MES Pass-outs / PMKVY candidates.  NAPS has a provision to share expenditure incurred on both apprenticeship training and stipend paid to the apprentices.

Govt. will share 25% of total stipend with employers upto Rs. 1500 per month per apprentice. All the interested apprentices who wants to get skill development training can fill online application form for Apprenticeship Scheme.

Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is implementing this Skill India initiative. This is the first time that govt. will provide incentives to the employers to actively participate in apprenticeship training. Moreover, govt. will also share training cost with Basic Training Providers upto max. limit of Rs. 7500 for 500 hours / 3 months per apprentice.

This scheme has target to provide training and placements to 50 lakh youth across the country till 2019-20. Tagline for this NAPS Scheme is “Kaushal Bharat – Kushal Bharat”.

Objective of National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme 2018:

The main objective of the NAP scheme to provide apprenticeship training to over 50 lakh youngsters in order to create more jobs. It has budgetary outlay of Rs 10000 crore. Therefore

The Union Government has notified National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS). It is for providing apprenticeship training to over 50 lakh youngsters in in order to create more jobs.

The Scheme has an outlay of 10,000 crore rupees with a target of 50 Lakh apprentices to be train by 2019-20. It is first of its kind scheme notified to offer financial incentives to employers

Key Feature of National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme 2018:

1. NAPS will be implemente by Director General of Training (DGT) in the aegis of Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).

2. In it, Central Government for the first time will provide financial incentives to the employers to engage apprentices.

3. Central Government will also directly share 25% of the total stipend (maximum of 1,500 rupees per month per apprentice) payable to an apprentice with employers.

4. In addition, it will support basic training which is consider an essential component of apprenticeship training.

5. The Central Government will bear the 50% of the total expenditure incurred on providing basic training to an apprentice.

6. All transactions including registration by employers, apprentices, registration of contract and payment to employers will be made in online mode.

NAPS 2018 Apprenticeship Training Candidate Registration

All the candidates needs to make registration for apprenticeship training for skill development. All the ITI Pass outs / Dual Mode Trainee of ITI / PMKVY / MES / Freshers candidates can make registration online as follows:-

  • Firstly visit the official website apprenticeship.gov.in
  • On the homepage, scroll over the “Apprentices” tab in the main menu and click “Candidate Registration” or directly click this link
  • After this, NAPS 2018 Apprenticeship Training Registration Form will appear on the screen.
 
  • Here fill all the asked details and then submit the completed application form to get apprenticeship training.
  • Furthermore, all the registered candidates can view their profile using the link – Apprentice Authentication

Apprenticeship Skill India Intitiative will lead to an industry led, practice oriented, effective and efficient mode of formal training.
