Recently Government of India launched UMANG App. This includes all Government related services. How to view EPF Passbook or withdraw EPF using Umang App? EPF Passbook status and Balance inquiry checking Provident Fund Account statement, Balance by UMANG portal. UMANG mobile app is very handy for government or private employees who have the EPF accounts. The employee provident fund organization has already integrated with the Mobile application called UMANG. Government under E-Governance scheme, started the services such as EPFO UAN Account Management, Balance Checking, Passbook saving etc. Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has now launched a new “View Pension Passbook” service through ‘Umang App’. EPFO is a retirement fund body which offers various e-services to all its stakeholders. Now pensioners can easily check epfo pension passbook, statement, account details and balance online. Here we are providing the description on how to check your passbook details using ‘View Passbook’ Service at UMANG App. EPFO also provides several other e-services through Umang App like Employee Centric Services, Employer Centric Services, General Services, Pensioner Services and eKYC Services. This ‘View Passbook’ option is now included in the “Pensioner Services” Section of EPFO Subscribers.

All the candidates can easily check their account number, date wise balance, branch code and other details through this passbook. The complete procedure to view passbook for the pensioners is described below

What is Umang Mobile App?

UMANG, is a Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance. It is developed by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD). It is an evolving platform designed for citizens of India to offer them access to the pan India e-Gov services from the Central, State, Local Bodies, and Agencies of government on app, web, SMS, and IVR channels.

It will integrate almost 200 government services by 2019 across departments and states, allowing people to work seamlessly with the government. UMANG will soon be providing integration with various other services such as PayGov.

It is claimed that UMANG will revolutionize the way how an Indian citizen avails government services today, claims the Government. UMANG will enable citizens to download a single mobile app instead of multiple apps for each department and make it easy for them to discover government services.

It will suggest you link Aadhaar. However, it is not mandatory link Aadhaar with Umang App. However, it will be beneficial for you to link Aadhaar with Umang App.

It is available in 13 languages such as English, Hindi, Assamese, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Odia,Punjabi, Malyalam, Marathi, Tamil,Telegu,Urdu.

Currently, around 42 services are linked to Umang App like EPFO, PAN, NPS, CBSE, Pathshala, GST, HP Gas, Bharat Gas, Indane Gas, DigiLocker etc.

It is available as a website UMANG App and as a mobile App on Android, Windows and iOS platform. It requires 4.4 Android and up its size is 10 MB. Rating of 4.7 on Play Store.

Check EPFO Pension Passbook Online through Umang App

Below is the complete procedure to view pension passbook and statement through Umang App:-

  • Firstly download UMANG App from the Google Play Store or directly click this link
  • After downloading this free mobile app, install the app and make login using mobile number, aadhaar card, facebook, google or twitter. The homepage of the umang free mobile application will appear on the screen.
  • At the homepage, click the EPFO section to open the list of EPFO e-Services present in this free mobile app.
  • Next click at the ‘Pensioner Services’ section to open the facilities for pensioners which includes ‘View Passbook’ and ‘Update Jeevan Pramaan’. 
  • Any pensioner who wants to view his / her passbook can click the “View Passbook” option. Upon clicking the ‘View Passbook’ option, a new screen will open which requires ‘Select EPFO Office’, ‘Office ID’, ‘PPO Number’ and ‘Enter DOB’ and click the “Submit” button. 
  • After successful validation of entered information, an OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number of pensioner.
  • After entering the OTP, Pensioner Passbook will display the details of the pensioner such as Name, DOB along with last pension credited information.

The facility to download the financial year wise complete pass book details is also available at UMANG App.

If any person wants to know the PF or balance in the pension account, then people can easily use the Umang App. Labour Department has recently launched this free Umang App recently to facilitate the pensioners to check their details online.

Who can withdraw EPF using Umang App?

There are certain conditions to it and they are as below.

# You must link Aadhaar to UMANG App.

# You must have an active UAN number.

# You must have linked Aadhaar to UAN number 

# Your UAN number must be KYC complied (Bank Account number, IFSC Code, PAN Card and contact details must be linked and verified by employer fully).
