Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2018 (SBSI) Apply Online from 25 April

The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has announced ‘Swachh Bharat Summer Internship’ programme’ and invited application from eligible students for the same. The eligible students can apply on the official website – sbsi.mygov.in. The portal will be launched on April 25. Once the website is available, the interested candidates can send their applications. The main objective behind this programme is to spread awareness about the cleanliness and to boost the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Campaign. For this programme the eligible students will be able to make Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2018 registration at the new portal which will be launched on 25 April.

The total duration of internship will be around 100 hours and will be organized from 1 May 2018 to 31 July 2018. Only the registered students at higher education institutions can apply online. The parent institution will provide essential logistics for the activities.

This internship is also applicable for 2 academic credits like an optional (elective) paper under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS).

Swachh Bharat Summer Internship – Features

  • The students under this programme will be selected from higher education institutes.
  • The candidates will have to select an officer for guiding them throughout the internship programme.
  • Under the internship the students need to adopt one or more villages and conduct activities of their choice including Shramdaan, creation of sanitation infrastructure, system building, behaviour change camiagns and other IEC initiatives in and around nearby villages to contribute to the cause of rural sanitation in India.
  • The selected candidates have to submit the intern in a prescribed format through the supervisor within 15 days of the field work.
  • The best internships will be recognised at college, University, State and National levels.
  • The candidates who will complete the internship will also be provided certificates of internship by the Swachh Bharat Mission.

All the interested and eligible candidates needs to make registration for this internship at a new dedicated portal sbsi.mygov.in.

 Internship Report & Prizes

  • The selected interns will need to submit an Internship Report in the prescribed format to the supervisor within 15 days of completion of fieldwork.
  • Best interns would be identified at college-level, university-level, state-level, and national level and will be awarded a cash prize at the end of the internship.
