Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said the government organises a mango festival every year, but this time it decided to merge it with the “Delhi Summer Festival”, to be held in the Capital for the first time.

To draw crowds, the festival is organising an event titled “100 hai daam, kitne bhi khao aam [Eat as many mangoes are you want for Rs.100]”. Visitors will have to pay Rs.100 per entry and be eligible to eat an unlimited number of a variety of mangoes.

The “Delhi Summer Festival” will offer a variety of options to beat the heat with various summer fruits, cold desserts, and cool beverages. Besides these, there will be classes on how to prepare summer treats like yoghurt, smoothies and sharbats .

The annual mango festival offers a platform to mango growers from across country to showcase traditional and hybrid varieties of the fruit.

The Delhi Summer Festival will be organised at Dilli Haat in Janakpuri between June 24 and June 26 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The closest metro station is Tilak Nagar.
