Gujarat Kisan Parivahan Yojana

Introduction of Scheme

To ease the burden of transporting agricultural produce, the Government of Gujarat launched a progressive initiative known as the Gujarat Kisan Parivahan Yojana in 2024. The scheme addresses a long-standing issue faced by the farming community—lack of personal transportation to carry crops from fields to local mandis or markets. Through this scheme, the state aims to bridge the gap by offering financial aid to farmers so they can own small transport vehicles. This strategic move is set to empower rural livelihoods and improve market access for cultivators.

Benefits Provided

Under the Kisan Parivahan Yojana, eligible farmers are granted a government subsidy to assist with the purchase of light-to-medium goods transport vehicles. These vehicles are exclusively meant for agricultural purposes, enhancing productivity and reducing post-harvest losses. The subsidy amount depends on the farmer's category:

  • SC/ST/Women/Small & Marginal Farmers: Up to 35% subsidy or ₹75,000 (whichever is lower)

  • General Category Farmers: Up to 25% subsidy or ₹50,000 (whichever is lower)

  • Tractor-Trailer Purchase (All Categories): 20% subsidy or ₹30,000 maximum

This financial support reduces the upfront cost burden, helping farmers invest in reliable transportation.

To benefit from the Gujarat Kisan Parivahan Scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Should be a registered farmer with proof of cultivation

  • Can belong to any category: General, SC, ST, Small, Marginal, or Women Farmer

  • Tenant farmers are also eligible with valid lease documentation

  • Ownership or lease of agricultural land is mandatory

  • The vehicle must be used solely for agriculture-related transportation

This inclusive eligibility ensures support reaches genuine and needy farmers.
