Haryana Govt’s Support Scheme for Elderly Artists: Key Highlights

The Government of Haryana has launched a special pension scheme called the Pandit Lakhmi Chand Kalakar Samajik Samman Scheme to honor and uplift the senior artists and scholars who have dedicated their lives to various art forms. Objective Behind the Scheme

The primary goal of this welfare initiative is to offer financial stability to elderly artists and scholars who have enriched Haryana’s cultural heritage but now face challenges due to lack of regular income in their senior years. This pension is a token of appreciation for their decades-long contribution in fields like music, acting, dance, sculpture, painting, and theatre.


Financial Benefits under the Scheme

Depending on the income bracket of the applicant, the following benefits are available:

  • ₹10,000 per month – For artists with annual income up to ₹1.80 lakh

  • ₹7,000 per month – For those with annual income between ₹1.80 lakh and ₹3 lakh

Funds will be directly deposited into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries every month.


Who Can Apply: Eligibility Conditions

To be considered for this honorarium scheme, an individual must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a permanent resident of Haryana

  • Should be registered with the Art and Cultural Affairs Department

  • Age should be 60 years or above

  • Must have contributed at least 20 years to any recognized form of art

  • Should possess a valid Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP ID)

  • Annual income must not exceed ₹3 lakh

  • Accepted art forms include:

    • Singing, Acting, Dancing, Painting

    • Musical Instruments

    • Drama, Theatre, Sculpture, or any other visual arts

Applicants must attach the following documents along with their application form:

  • Residence Certificate/Domicile of Haryana

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP ID)

  • Proof of age (birth certificate or valid ID)

  • Family income certificate

  • Bank account details with IFSC code

  • Mobile number

Here's how senior artists and art scholars can apply for monthly pension benefits:

  1. Visit the District Office of the Art and Culture Affairs Department, Haryana.

  2. Collect the Application Form from the respective counter.

  3. Fill out the Form carefully with accurate information.

  4. Attach the required documents listed above.

  5. Submit the completed form to the concerned official.

  6. The department will verify the documents and form.

  7. Eligible candidates will be included in the pension disbursement list.

  8. Monthly pension will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account after final approval.
