Cashless Treatment for Road Accident Victims – Nationwide Health Scheme by the Government of India The Government of India has rolled out a path-breaking initiative that ensures timely and free medical care for road accident victims . Titled the Cashless Treatment of Road Accident Victims Scheme , this program aims to drastically reduce fatalities by offering cashless treatment during the critical "golden hour" following a road accident. Launch Timeline The scheme was initially piloted in Chandigarh and Assam on 14 March 2024 . Due to its success, the initiative was expanded nationwide from 5 May 2025 , enabling accident victims from across the country to receive urgent care without financial concerns.
